Scott Harn
Editor/Publisher
Scott grew up with prospecting in his blood. His grandfather, Herb Reid, had a cabin and mining claims on the Trinity River in Northern California, and was the editor of the Journal from 1966-1979.
Scott's parents, Ken & Kathy Harn, ran the Journal for twenty years, from 1979-1999. Scott worked for the Journal during his high school and college years, and then returned, with his wife Sally, to purchase the magazine when his father announced he was retiring in November 1999.
Running the Journal takes up much of his time, but Scott also enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, playing and coaching soccer, dredging and metal detecting for gold, and encouraging the girls to share their gifts.
