Described as the most celebrated mineral region in North America, its ancient mines have produced a phenomenal amount of rich masses of pure native silver and ore prior to the arrival of the early Spaniards extending into the present century.

Don Eno, a long-time member and supporter of Public Lands for the People, won his case in front of the Interior Board of Land Appeals (IBLA), defeating the Forest Service’s attempt to prevent him from mining on his placer claim.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) issued emergency rules without public comment just prior to our publication deadline.
Mining Districts are the private regulatory authority granted by Congress recognized to regulate the mineral lands held by the United States and for the disposal to citizens of the United States, by means of development and potentially perfected by patent.
Several thousand miners and their families made it a successful show. Local mining companies gave employees time off to attend the Thursday and Friday exhibits and events.
