Placer Gold in Washington

The state of Washington is not especially known for placer gold, yet significant amounts have been recovered in a few districts. These deposits are usually downstream from lode mining areas, some of which are in British Columbia.

Gold Point, Nevada—A One-Man Mining Town Restoration
Almost 200 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gold Point was developed initially as a gold mining community in 1868. Like most mining camps, it experienced a typical boom-to-bust cycle, and by 1882, Gold Point was clearly on its way to becoming just another abandoned ghost town.
Nova Scotia Shows It's Serious About Jobs & Mining
Saying that the Canadian Province of Nova Scotia supports mining and the jobs that mining creates would be an understatement.
MMAC & PLP Update
On July 4, we are reminded of the sacrifices our Founding Fathers made to establish this great country of ours, and in that spirit, the Minerals and Mining Advisory Council (MMAC) has created a draft Declaration of Miners.And MMAC has been hard at work writing a bill, with the unwavering support of several members of Congress, to reaffirm the rights of miners operating in traditional mining districts.
