San Diego County Tourmaline

San Diego County, California, has long been considered the finest source of pink tourmaline in the world. The Pala, Mesa Grande, Rincon, and Ramona districts in the northern portion of the county have produced tourmaline, kunzite, and other gems in great quantities, much of it jewelry and museum-quality specimens.Becoming A Nozzle Master
Tired but satisfied after the first day dredging this season, I settled into my homemade oak camp chair. My eyes scanned the beautiful river, steep forested mountains and crisp blue sky, with the heat of the day fading.
Exploring La Trinidad Mine
This was a trail for a mountain goat. It was wide enough for a person to travel, clear enough except for lots of broken shale, but steep, really steep. I was beginning to question my sanity as the eight of us dropped almost 1,200 feet down the mountainside in order to locate La Trinidad Mine. Just as it seemed we might have missed it, there it was in all its glory.
