California State Gold Panning Championship Results


The seventh annual California State Championships started off with a roar and it never ended until the champions were named at the end of the two-day event. The setting was perfect. The event was being held in the historic mining town of Foresthill, northeast of Sacramento.

The Phoenix Gold Mine: A Brief History


The Phoenix Gold Mine is located approximately 7 miles south of Concord, North Carolina, and was discovered in about 1836, some 37 years following the first discovery of gold in the United States and a few years following the discovery of gold in quartz veins by Joseph Barringer.
