Prison Time Handed Out for Gold and Silver Thefts
September 2007 by Associated PressThe ringleader of former mining workers accused of stealing $1.7 million in gold and silver from Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining is headed to prison, prosecutors said.
The mine site consists of river gravels from an ancient channel covering over 20 acres, and the place is covered with very large river rock and small tree overgrowth.
