April 1999 by Wally MierasPeople always ask me how much gold I'm getting? I remind them that after 27 years digging in that same mountain, I'm still a small miner. But my wife hasn't divorced me—probably because the lawyer wants all the money up front.
The periodic exploration efforts for nickel during periods of high prices have been sporadic and incomplete. There is a role for the prospector and geologist in searching laterites potentially rich in nickel and mafic igneous bodies that may be rich in nickel.
Every time we prospected here we found gold, sometimes some really coarse flakes, but no large nuggets (yet).
