Liberal Group Begins Push to Tax Mining in Nevada

A Nevada liberal advocacy group is mounting a drive to get voters to back a ballot measure to collect more taxes from gold mining.PLP Update
Priorities will include meeting with the EPA regarding suction gold dredging permitting and with the Forest Service regarding revisions to CFR 228A regulations related to mining and access on public lands.

The United States has an oil reserve at least three times that of Saudi Arabia locked in oil shale deposits beneath federal land in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming, according to a study released August 31.
