Two Arrested in Alleged Mining Investment Scheme
The US attorney’s office indicted Diana Flaherty, of Las Vegas, and Michael Gardiner, of San Diego, in connection with a securities fraud scheme. According the indictment, Flaherty, and her husband Robert (now deceased), had managed Phoenix Metals USA II. Gardiner is identified as a company shareholder.

Woman Gets 90 Months in Mining Fraud Case
A Nevada woman was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for her role in an investment scheme involving claims that she could extract precious metals from volcanic cinders, officials said.
A Return to Silver City, Idaho
...we were able to pull out close to another 3+ ounces of small, angular Silver City gold. This also included several more small nuggets, pieces of wire gold and some quartz-gold pieces—not bad for 4 days with a small sluice.
Gold in Nevada
Over 135 million ounces of gold were produced in Nevada between 1858 and 2001, 107 million of that total being since 1965. Now, the so-called “Silver State” is the leading gold producer in the nation.
