Talk about “déjà vu!” Americans woke up early morning Tuesday, November 6 with a Democratic President; a Senate with a narrow Democratic lead and a House with a strong Republican majority. Never have I regretted the deadlines we must work with at this publication as I do this month, for events of tremendous significance are likely to occur between the time this column must be prepared and the time our readers will receive it.
Gold nuggets and serpentine contacts
There are many smaller old hard rock mines out there—more than you might think. There are some small hard rock properties that are even open to be claimed if one does the right amount of research to find them.
Occurrences such as these have proven, time and time again, that gold possesses the attribute of maintaining significant value over time, something that cannot be said of unbacked, fiat paper money where every such issuance has eventually deteriorated throughout history into virtual worthlessness.
I regularly get inquiries along the line of: “Hey, I found this rock, and I think it might be gold ore. How can I tell?” Prospectors are always on the lookout for gold-bearing rocks that may be the source of any nearby placer gold.
