Picks & Pans: Nuggetshooting Around Cactus
December 2005 by Jim StraightI mostly nugget hunt within the Great Basin and Mojave desert areas of California and Nevada, and less frequently the Sonoran desert of Arizona. I have discovered the gamma grass, sagebrush and creosote areas of the Great Basin and Mojave are friendlier to nuggetshoot than the vegetation within the Sonoran desert.
Unquestionably, the events of January 20, 2009, highlighted the news of the past month as on that date, the “torch of leadership” of America passed from the departing George W. Bush and into the hands of the 44th President, Barack Obama.

The best time to explore and lock-in many of these overlooked and misunderstood deductions is now, well before the end of the tax year.
Just because we have snow doesn’t mean we’re not going to prospect, we just have to change our direction and head more down towards the flat lands.
