This past four weeks saw a major shift in the scope of financial headlines. Where recent months have focused almost entirely on the “subprime” crisis and resultant credit problems, the US Dollar itself became the center of attention last month as it entered a period of severe decline against the Euro, Australian Dollar, British Pound, Swiss Franc and Canadian Dollar.

US uranium mines produced less than 174,000 pounds in 2019, according to the February Energy Information Administration report. That’s down from 4.9 million pounds in 2014.
It was only a few years ago that China was taxing and limiting quantities of exports for rare earths in an effort squeeze the market, drive up prices and extract the most in the way of income.
There are several counties around Shasta County that offer very good gold detecting. Many of these locations are old hydraulic pits. While detecting these old pits over the years I have come up with some ideas on how to go about hunting them.
