In our opinion, these dizzying up and down moves reflect not so much a change in the direction of hard data, but rather fluctuations in sentiment regarding the degree of danger relating to the overall international economic structure.
The combination of these two concerns—the drift toward socialism and the willingness to violate law—appear to me to be capable of raising the level of civil disorder to a point where such disorders could be positive influences on the price of gold and silver.
The “battle lines” are being clearly drawn. By the time you receive this issue both party conventions will take place within just a few weeks and there will be only four months until the final vote.
It appears that market softness due to a slowing Chinese economy may already have affected precious and base metals quotes.
