Ask The Experts -- Will a land mine detector work for gold?
March 2020 by Chris Ralph
I know big mining companies use cyanide and other leach systems to recover gold from ore. Is this the only economically feasible way to recover the values?
Q: How can I locate good places to prospect and meet like-minded individuals at the same time?
While there is no metal detector that will see only gold, there is a device that can reliably distinguish gold from lead, copper, iron or other metals. It is an X-Ray fluorescence tester, sometimes called an XRF gun.
