Senator Reid says mining law reform won't be on the agenda for 2010
March 11, 2010
Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) said mining law reform won't be addressed in Congress this year, according to a report by Adella Harding of the Elko Daily Free Press.“The mining companies want it, and I want it, but based on the schedule of the Senate, it won’t make it this year. We’re just overloaded. We won’t have time to get to this,” said Reid.
Reid may not be addressing mining law reform next year either if he is unable to get re-elected. Reid is trailing all three Republican candidates in a March 4 poll conducted by Rasmussen. He trails Danny Tarkanian by 50 to 37 percent; Sue Lowden by 51 to 38 percent; and Sharron Angle by 46 to 38 percent.
