Introducing ICMJ’s New Owners: Josh and Sherrie Reinke

June 2022 by Josh

Many readers already know that the ICMJ has changed hands. Scott and Sally Harn have dreams of lounging by a lake and experiencing life without deadlines or city bustle. Before they could do this a replacement was needed, and that is where we come into the picture.

My name is Josh Reinke, and my wife’s name is Sherrie. We have three beautiful children, and our life is focused on them and always has been.

Sherrie is a 4th generation Grass Valley, CA resident, and I am 5th generation. Both of our families have lived here in the beautiful and rich California foothills of the Mother Lode since late 1800s.

Our families were gold miners, loggers, cattle drivers and pioneers of the Western States.

My passion for gold started when I was a young teen. My great grandpa, Richard Reinke, told me stories of past gold mining and logging experiences that just blew my mind! Stories like truckloads of 80 lb. gold bars from the Empire Mine that he was charged with transporting to the banks in Auburn, CA, or linking four log trucks together to get a load out of the steep and muddy canyons they worked in. Since then, I have been a prospector, and soon after a miner.

In 2008, we decided to open our own prospecting business. Being that I was skilled in mining claim research and navigating California’s strict mining laws, I became a mining consultant for local miners who wished to advance their gold mining dreams!

Little did we know, this many years later, we would have the honor and pleasure of serving the mining community as the new stewards of the ICMJ legacy. We commit to continuing to set the bar in quality and the best content of any gold-related media outlet, as the Harn family always has.

We are opening a mining supply store that contains a library of ICMJ magazines dating back to 1930s! The library also includes books and maps that were obtained by the ICMJ since the 1930s. We hope to build the most informational gold mining related library in the nation! Our new office and store are located in Grass Valley, CA.

We would like to thank the ICMJ’s loyal readers and advertisers for your years of patronage, and here’s to many more! God Bless and heavy pans!
