Occupy Idaho Waters Permit

Despite what the EPA might tell you, the Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) believes gold mining with a suction dredge causes an insignificant disturbance of resources. IDWR issues a "Letter Permit" for suction gold dredging.

Occupy Idaho Waters is protest organized against the EPA's new requirement of an NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) permit for Idaho. Protest organizers recommend all those who participate in the protest obtain the necessary permit from IDWR.  The cost is $10 for residents and $30 for non-residents as of this writing.  Attendees will not be applying for the EPA permit.

The event will be held June 30, 2014 through July 6, 2014.

Submit the completed permit to:
Department of Water Resources
PO Box 83720
Boise, IID 83720-0098

The required fee may be in the form of cash, check, or money order. Each person who operates recreational mining equipment must have their own permit.
