Five
months ago my dad got me a boxful of CMJ magazines fore free at a yard
sale, not being yet strickened with the fever. I read one while it was
slow at work. After reading the first one I I couldn't wait until I
cracked open the next, and the next, and so on. Out of the 150
magazines that I got I have read them all at least 3 times each, some
more when concerning placer production, and gemstones. After all the
information I learned from your books I so far have recovered a little
more than two pennyweights in gold, two diamonds, and lost 60 pounds
and found what I have been looking for for years, a good wholesome,
healthy hobby that I will enjoy for the rest of my life, Thanks CMJ.

informative! He divulged methods that I've employed myself for the past

successful treasure hunting. Dang!

Hello,
First I hope you will excuse my language which is no very good and that
you will understand me but I'm French. I 'm a French gold panning
women, doing this activity in France since more than 20 years. I have a
small enterprise in the south of France which teaches at the schools
and the tourists the techniques to look for gold in our rivers. I'm 45
years old , and my dream is to come to make a California circuit since
20 years. I have project to realize out this dream about October of
this year . And obviously arrived in Coloma. But I need some help, and
I have some questions, so I hope that you could help me. I will come
with my husband and my son of 20 years old who wants to exert his
school language and may be found a family where to stay "au
pair" for 6 months. Can we look for gold free in California and
where are the better places to do it, or do we need authorization? What
is the weather at this time? Even we will stay 1 month, what are the
most beautiful places has not to miss. Vilain Veronique FRANCE - Gard vero.vilain

A
BIG HOWDEE TO YOU TO Joe Smithy, on your panning it sounds like you've
pretty much got it if your saving clinkers -n- fines, don't worry about
speed right now - that will come in time. I start my pan with about 3/4
full of ore -n- sink the pan till it sits on the bottom then I stir it
all around breaking up any mud balls, still underwater shake your pan
back -n- forth a few times -n- any gold will already b on the bottom,
pick up your pan -n- slightly tip the pan down -n-shake it sideways -n
back -n forth for a few seconds, you'll see that most of the material
is gone, with your pan still at an angle shake your pan till everything
is pretty much in the same spot, keep doing this till you see black
sand -n- slow down but keep doing this till all you have is black sand
then it's time to back wash, tilt the pan to you and with a little
clean water slowly circulate the water over the black sand. the water
will bring the sand to the bottom -n- the gold will stay on top -n-
there ye are. Don't worry about loosing any gold, density -n- gravity
will keep your treasure where it belongs. Here's a good exercise, fill
your pan about 3/4 full then drop 3 BBs in an start pannin an pan
pretty fast - when your done count the BBs, keep doing this an you'll
be surprised how fast you'll get. Trust your equipment and gravity -n-
you'll never go wrong. Happy huntin my friend. Michael Weippert,
