Scott Harn
Editor/Publisher
|
Scott grew up with prospecting in his blood. His grandfather, Herb Reid, had a cabin and mining claims on the Trinity River in Northern California, and was the editor of the Journal from 1966-1979.
Scott's parents, Ken & Kathy Harn, ran the Journal for twenty years, from 1979-1999. Scott worked for the Journal during his high school and college years, and then returned, with his wife Sally, to purchase the magazine when his father announced he was retiring in December 1999.
Running the Journal takes up much of his time, but Scott also enjoys spending quality time with his wife and daughters, playing ice hockey and soccer, and dredging for gold.

Sally Harn
Advertising Manager

Sally handles all the advertising accounts, design work and layout for the Journal.
She’s also a decent gold panner. She won this third place medal at the California Gold Panning Championships a few years ago, beating out a couple of guys from the Idaho-Maryland Mine in a friendly wager in the Beginners Division!
Outside of work, Sally volunteers much of her time organizing school art projects, taking photos and designing yearbooks for her daughter Riley’s elementary school. She also coaches and plays soccer with her family.
